Xiaowen Chen

PhD supervisor. Graduated from the Printmaking Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. He is currently a full professor of the Division of Extended Media at Alfred University, and a distinguished guest professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1996, he has developed his career in digital media art, both in his studio practice and teaching. He is the first generation of digital media artist and educator in China. In the past ten years, he has focused on making of video, interactive video installation, physical computing,  and on teaching in the field of art and technology. He has participated in the Chengdu Biennale, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery Biennale three times. He has held solo exhibitions at He Xiangning Art Museum, Today Art Museum, and Contemporary Art Museum of Syracuse University, New York. He has received New York Art Foundation fellowship. He has co-curated  the “American Contemporary Printmaking Art Exhibition” and “Beijing New Media Biannual”
